Growing Up Fast

I am really slacking now. Almost two months without an update. Let's see, what's new? Joshua now has two teeth (the front bottoms) and I'm pretty sure he's working on the top two because he is drooling like a fountain and chewing on anything he can get his hands on. He's moving around a lot, not really crawling yet, but he can move himself backwards and in circles to get where he wants to be. He gets up on his hands and knees but hasn't figured out what to do next. He'll get it, though. He's been carefully observing the kids in his Tot Gym class. Lately, that's been his thing: he loves watching the other kids in the class, even "cheering" them on at times, but doesn't want to do all the activities. Can't say he doesn't have a good attention span, anyway.

We brought him to his first P-Bruins hockey game last Sunday (October 4). He absolutely loved it. He was so excited to watch the game, listen to the music, and play with his "aunties." He was even waving his arms at the players and "yelling." So cute. He was great the whole time and even took a nap on Auntie Susan.

Josh now knows how to wave, and says "Hi" and "Bye" occasionally (when he's not being shy). He also loves to sing -- sometimes I catch him "singing along" with the radio or TV, or sometimes just singing to himself. His musical toys are his favorites (well, besides his stuffed animals, and especially the monkey). He'll start the music and "dance" or play while sitting, but always keeps the music going.

Josh is still loving to watch "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" on TV. I tried to put in a Baby Einstein DVD yesterday, and he cried. When I turned it off and put on Mickey, he was happy again. He certainly knows what he wants. Of course, sometimes I just put on the music channel, and he likes to "watch" that, too.

We took Josh apple picking this past weekend, and are hoping to go tag a Christmas tree within the next couple of weeks. I love being able to include the little man in our family traditions. I love the fall for all these kinds of traditions, as well as the cooler weather and beautiful foliage. And all things pumpkin. Mmm. Josh joins in with this, too -- apple/pumpkin baby food. He loves it.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. I'll try not to let too much time pass between updates next time!
