[259/365] Winter Wonderland

After about 3-4 inches of snow fell last night, it started to rain, which lasted into late morning. Luckily, it was just a drizzle, and didn't wash away the snow. It left a crispy layer on top of the snow, however, and once we had that packed down a bit, it made for some good sledding.

When the sun went down and we were too chilly, we went inside for warm soup and the Octonauts' Christmas special. We also decided that a proper Christmas tree ought to have a train running underneath, so Joshua pulled out his Thomas and friends sets and we built a track. We even used a bridge to get over that pesky extension cord.

I think a big part of the magic of Christmas is being able to have fun like a child -- being truly joyful and thankful and in the moment, making wonderful memories. I'm glad we were able to do that today.
